As a former sommelier, he preferred to let his wines do the talking. In the 1990s, he swapped his service jacket for a vine cutter and began to reinterpret the Blaufr\u00e4nkisch from the Eisenberg &#8211; sparse, purist, profound. Uwe was one of the first to focus on origin rather than technique. And he was heard.<br \/>\nBut even great winegrowers are not spared setbacks. After severe weather events and economic turbulence, things became quiet around him. Too quiet.
